The Office of Outreach and Support Programs (OaSP) provides services to students facing academic obstacles preventing them from succeeding in the classroom and offers support via academic coaching, workshops, online engagement, and a variety of other services to assist students form strategies for success.

Jill Putman

Assistant Director of Outreach and Support Programs

Jill Putman (she/her/hers) serves as the Associate Director of Outreach and Support Programs and has experience supporting student success across higher education in advising, residence life, undergraduate admissions, and TRIO SSS programs. She earned a Bachelor of Arts degree from Miami University and a Master of Education degree in College Student Affairs Administration from the University of Georgia. Jill is a first-generation college graduate and passionate about educational access, equity, and promoting asset-based approaches to student success.

Andrea Fortney

Senior Coordinator for the Fostering Success Program

Andrea Fortney is the Senior Coordinator for the Fostering Success Program. She is passionate about serving students from foster care, unaccompanied homeless youth and other independent backgrounds. Andrea holds a masters in counseling and has a background in higher education and social justice. 

Juan Rivas

Juan Rivas

Collegiate Success Coach

Graduate of Eastern New Mexico University with a Bachelor of Science in History (2007) and a Master’s of Arts in Communication (2016). Juan has worked extensively with the federal TRIO programs (serving low-income and first generation students) and understands the academic challenges facing college students. An avid gamer (Switch or PS4), reader (history and sci-fi), movie enthusiast, podcaster, and history buff. Juan enjoys spending time with his three wonderful kids and engaging in a variety of social topics.
